Hillfloor Group was founded in 1989 by Jan Beens under the name Hillfloor carpet b.v. The company bears the name of mother Hilligje and began as a wholesaler of natural and project carpets. Retail trade was soon added. The focus was mainly on stores, with direct sales of complete rolls of carpet. Hillfloor also specialized in providing customization through coupages, cutting orders to size.
Hillfloor divides its collection into two product groups - carpet and PVC - and introduces two new brands: Fairfloor and Profloor. Fairfloor represents carpet and includes the wool, sisal and synthetic collections. Particularly characteristic of this collection are the woven qualities in a variety of structures. Profloor represents PVC and contains the first generation of PVC floors in the Netherlands. Trends and developments were anticipated with this collection.
Hillfloor introduces a new brand: Therdex LVT flooring. A diverse collection of LVT flooring with different, formats, textures and designs. With Therdex, a modern alternative to flooring came into the product mix. With a focus on innovation and technology, Therdex created durable and stylish PVC flooring that embraced the demands of today's lifestyle. The brand became a pioneer in creating floors that were not only beautiful, but also easy to maintain and friendly to people and the environment through the use of biological plasticizers.
In 2010, Van Besouw carpet - a household name in the flooring industry - was acquired. For more than eight decades, Van Besouw carpet has been known for its knitted, woven and tufted carpets of exceptional quality. The unique designs and textures of Van Besouw carpet can be found in both residential and commercial spaces around the world.
Van Besouw is a household name in the world of carpet and has a rich history. Since 1839, craftsmanship and innovation have brought the brand to where it is today: a leading supplier of high quality and contemporary carpet. For the carefully composed collection, only the best materials are good enough; selected to last and made with consideration for people and the environment.
In 2011 Hillfloor takes the carpet brand Jabo under its wing with a relaunch. A brand with the philosophy of the past, given a new look. Jabo found its origins in 1953. Jan Bosman of VERTO (the United Rope Factories) invented a machine that processed hemp, sisal and coconut fibers into broadloom carpet. Woven wool carpets originated on the same machines. Jabo carpet was a household name in the Netherlands. With a completely new concept, appropriate collections were introduced under this brand. The Jabo collection consists of three product concepts: a wool collection, sisal collection and a synthetic collection.
Hillfloor introduces the Atelier - custom rugs. In our own workshop in Genemuiden we offer the possibility to manufacture a rug from any type of carpet. A true customization process, in which any desired size and shape can be realized. From simple rectangular and round rugs to complex organic shapes. Using computer-controlled cutting, the rug is cut from the roll in a form-fitting manner. This minimizes cutting losses and ensures an efficient process. The finishing is also customized. With a wide variety of banding to choose from, each rug can be finished with the desired look and feel.
In 2023 Hillfloor Group acquires LEOXX and Prints van Oranje: renowned players in the world of innovative project flooring and customized interior materials for floor, wall, window and furniture. A strategic acquisition with which Hillfloor Group enriches its portfolio and strengthens its position as a leading supplier of flooring. With the addition of the two new members, Hillfloor Group grows into a real 'family of brands' and opens doors to even more creative possibilities and inspiration for customers worldwide.
The year 2024 will be marked by the positioning of Hillfloor Group as an umbrella brand. With our own logo and corporate identity and the launch of a new corporate website, we will emerge as a real brand family in the field of design floors and custom-made interior solutions, and we will also be able to position ourselves more clearly as an employer. The opening of a brand new Brand Centre in Amsterdam will follow in mid-September. Here all our brands will be represented and visitors can experience the unique possibilities of our floors and interior solutions in detail for themselves.
